The construction of a brand-new facility to replace an existing leisure centre in Bishop’s Stortford with a new facility that reflects modern demands in leisure sector and the need for updated facilities in the area.
The new centre was constructed near to the previous 50-year-old buildings, which were at the end of their working life, to ensure a smooth transfer of sport and leisure services.
The new facility provides an extensive array of wet and dry facilities, whilst enhancing the overall park setting. The new facilities comprise of an eight-lane 25m competition pool, a large teaching pool with movable floor, spectator area with 200+ seats, family changing village and group changing for schools. A confidence pool with interactive water play features will also be included.
In addition to the wet facilities, there is a gym with 130-150 stations including spin studio facilities, two studios, a café and a multi-purpose space. The new facilities also include self-contained football changing facilities and separate dry changing facilities.
